What is a Weblink Category?

To publish a weblink to your club website you can use the Weblinks area under your club's Administrator menu. The Weblink area of KeyImagery Clubs is where the club links to sponsors or other related websites and is organised in to Categories, with the Weblink record actually holding the information you want to publish. Published weblink items appear under the Weblinks option on the club's main menu.

It works on a hierarchy system just like a computer filing system using drives, folders and files.

  • Weblink Categories are storage containers and are like 'folders' on your computer.
  • Weblinks are the documents within the Weblink Categories and are like 'files' on your computer.
Weblink Category Examples

You might like to sort your club weblinks in to three main sections: club sponsors and supporters; members' own websites; and photography related sites. In this case you would create two Weblink Categories and title them something like:

  • Club Sponsors & Supporters
  • Club Members' Websites
  • Photography Related Links

Once your categories are all set up, you simply choose what category your Weblink fits in to and by doing so you organise your site's links in to an easily navigatable structure. If the link you want to publish doesn't fit in to one of the categories you have, just create another category for it. You customise how you organise your club's weblinks, and you can change it at any time.
