Sepia (Light Brown) - Free Lightroom 3 Preset

Here's one for the vintage/antique effect lovers. It's a close match to the true sepia style that was created for film photos back in the day. It converts the image to black and white, then adds in colour to give the old warm look that original sepia-styled images have. Use the preset on any image where the antique look is required.

Using the Preset

As with all of my presets, no exposure, recovery, fill light, blacks, white balance or tint changes are made to your image. Once you apply this preset, you should only need to adjust the Basic sliders (white balance, tint, exposure, recovery, fill light, blacks) in the Develop Module  to tweak your image to perfection. The preset uses a custom tone curve combined with some split toning and several graduated filters.

This preset is created in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 and is designed for RAW files. It will work with JPEG files just as well in the few tests that we have done, but we always recommend you shoot in RAW to get the best out of your photos.
